With the arrival of GALILEO Europe will be equipped with its own satellite navigation system. GALILEO is due to be operational from 2008. The main objective of this document is to highlight the opportunity this development
represents for the railways and to set out a model for the optimum integration of GALILEO as a key component of the railway system.
